Proposals

It's... been a while, again.

I've been busy at work! Which is good; I admit to settling into a bit of a death march vibe as I worked on the final sprint or three of a project that ended up accumulating more projects, more complexity, more surprises, etc.

Work picked up because I was asked to consult on a few other projects - partnerships, contract proposals, etc, which I haven't felt too much comfort with in the past. In the past, I've generally gone into these meetings sitting a bit wide-eyed, answering questions, and hoping someone could figure out what I meant and would be able to extract the useful information from the waffling and hedging and sweating and stammering. But I think I acquitted myself admirably, which is... a big thing for me 🙂

I can't discuss details about any of these things, of course, but I'm very excited about one of them in particular. If it's picked up, it'll be a very big deal for me - a promotion and pay raise, yeah, but also foregrounding and pressure-testing of a lot of the ideas I've gained from reading and thinking. So a mixture of excitement and fear 😨

Whenever we hear back - whether it's accepted or rejected - I'll provide more details. I had some ideas that I'm genuinely excited about, and I really hope I get to test them "under fire," so to speak!
