I am in the process of learning French because I intend to move to Europe, specifically France, in 2028.

Not out of dissatisfaction with the US (though I am dissatisfied), but just because I'd like to travel Europe in the years of life I have remaining to me, however many that may be, and my wife and my son weren't opposed to that.

Obviously that's conditional on me finding a job.

The posts in this blog are me practicing my written French. It's not just my thoughts, but also trying to gain familiarity with the terminology of my profession as practiced in France.

I write most of the words myself, but I have to do word-by-word translations online (using Google Translate) for jargon. After I write the post, I do another pass with Claude to catch my (many) grammatical errors.

So this shouldn't really be taken as an accurate reflection of the level of my written French, which is quite a bit less competent than what you read here. But I'm working on it. 🙂
